Stefan Baard

Stefan qualified as a lawyer in South Africa where he practiced before coming to the UK. After completing his Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test, he qualified as a solicitor in 2003.

Background

Stefan has practiced criminal law since qualifying and has worked for one of the largest criminal law firms gaining considerable experience. He brings with him a vast knowledge of criminal law and his determination and beliefs give him the motivation and drive to ensure all his clients receive the best possible defence. He has experience in challenging and defending the most serious of crimes for which he has earned his reputation.

Stefan has acted for clients in respect of a wide range of offences ranging from shoplifting to multi-handed murders. He has also acted in multi-handed robberies of High Street banks, cash-in-transit robberies, fraud and rape. A number of his cases have been reported in the national press.

Stefan is also a member of the Law Society Criminal Accreditation panel. He is both police station and court duty accredited and deals with matters on the duty solicitor rotas. He deals with both privately and publicly funded matters.

Stefan also specialises in food hygiene law and represents individuals and companies who are prosecuted for food hygiene offences. He has represented clients when interviewed under Caution and has attended hearings on their behalf, ensuring that they achieve the best possible outcome.
